The Living Heritage – partners’ meeting in Mazara del Vallo, Italy.

The group of our staf and learners participated in international project meeting together with Italian, Greek, Latvian, Maltese and Dutch representatives in October 2014.

The meeting was aimed to set out final details of cooperation and tasks between the partners as well as to introduce the visitors to the rich intangible cultural heritage of western Sicily. The participants took part in conference, study visits, workshops and other activities promoting the unique, multicultural heritage of Sicily.

“The Living Heritage” – Summary report on Intangible Cultural Heritage

tlhWe are glad to finally publish our work – the summary report on the research phase of Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) of the partner regions. Polish, Dutch, Italian, Greek, Maltese and Latvian parnters have contributed to this work. According to the project provisions, the partners identified areas of intangible cultural heritage in need of protection and promotion in their region of activities. All the local reports were edited and joined together by  the Polish partner as it was set out in the project tasks. The final product is published herebelow.

“The Living Heritage” – international partners’ meeting in Poland 14-18th May 2014

tlhWe are glad to announce yet another multinational meeting which was organised by SILWZ in Żeszczynka and neighbouring venues.

On 14 – 18 May 2014 the 2nd international meeting of partners of “The Living Heritage” project was held. We were visited by 15 people from Latvia, 2 people from Italy, 2 from Holland and a person form Malta. The meeting aimed to support  successful implementation of the project and to present to the international partners the Intangible Cultural Heritage which is still alive in the region of Żeszczynka. Apart from the project conferences and disscussions, the participants took part in a number of various handcraft workshops e.g. making of a butter, cottage cheese, bark sandal, “Sekacz” pie etc. They participated in study visits to several places relevant for the cultural heritage of the region and for the identity of local inhabitants (including still existing old parishes of Uniates, Orthodox and Catholics living next to each other). Part of the visitors was even accommodated in quarters rented by an Orthodox Monastery.

“ACtIV” Grundtvig Senior Volunteering project – Polish volunteers in Romania!

We are glad to announce that a group of Polish volunteers started their volunteering period in Romania!

On 21st May 2014 the group of 4 people chosen and prepared by SILWZ was sent to a partner organisation SOROS in Miercurea Ciuc/Csikszereda, Transylvania, Romania within the frameworks of the “ACtIV” Grundtvig Senior Volunteering project 2012 – 2014. Within the frameworks of the same project SILWZ hosted a group of Romanian volunteers of Hungarian origin in the summer of 2013, in Zeszczynka. This year a group of Polish volunteers at the age of 50+ has been sent to Romania to provide support in regular non-profit works of the partner organisation of SOROS. The Polish group stays in Romania from 21st May until 11th June 2014 (three weeks).

“Questing – adult education in the open air” 4th partners’ meeting; Italy 2014

“Questing – adult education in the open air”

On 6.05 – 10.05 was held the last meeting between partners of the project. In the meeting participated 8 representatives of SILWZ from Poland, 4 from UK and 4 from Czech Rep. The participants attended project conferences, took part in Italian questing games constructed within the frameworks of the project and study visits. The meeting contributed to a successful ending of the project.

The Living Heritage project – Individual partners’s reports on Intangible Cultural Heritage

tlhWithin the frameworks of the project all partner organisation are bound to prepare their individual reports on Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) and local focus groups carrying that heritage in ther regions.

All of the reports will compose to a huge summary report about ICH in all of the partners’ regions. Hereby, we present you individual partners’ reports made by the Polish partner organisation (that’s us)  and by the Dutch partners from P.C.T.

“Questing…” project – The minutes from the meeting in Derry 29.10 – 1.11.2013

Between 29th and 31st October 2013, the Greater Shantallow Area Partnership hosted the third meeting of the international project “Questing – adult education in the open air”. This meeting was attended by 4 representatives from Czech Rep., 8 participants from Italy and 11 representatives of SILWZ, what made us the largest foreign group present during the meeting.
